What is home staging and why is it worth it?
Home staging is preparing a property for sale or rent: cleaning, depersonalising, small repairs and styling the interior before the photo shoot. The goal is for a viewer to imagine living there. A well-prepared property sells faster and usually for a better price, which is why home staging is part of my service.

What home staging involves
- Thorough cleaning and removing everything that gets in the frame.
- Depersonalising: family photos and personal items go away; the viewer should imagine themselves, not you.
- Small repairs that would raise questions at a viewing.
- Styling: textiles, flowers, light, furniture arrangement.
Why it works
Buyers decide with emotions and first impressions, both at the listing and at the viewing. Photos of a prepared flat stand out in a flood of average listings, and at the viewing the property feels cared for, which translates into willingness to pay.
How I do it
I handle staging before every shoot, from recommending what to clear away and repair to styling the scene on the day. For empty flats I can arrange partial furnishing, because empty rooms look smaller and cold in photos.
When it helps the most
For empty flats, for older interiors where wear drags the impression down, and for rentals where speed decides. In practice it pays off almost always: the costs are negligible against the price of the property.
